FAQ

What is the difference between a llama and an alpaca?

While both animals are camelids their characteristics differ.

Llamas are larger with a more pronounced muzzle, longer ears, and their fiber is more coarse than that of an alpaca which is good for utility fabrics.

Alpacas are smaller with a more round head, shorter ears, and softer fiber ideal for fine garments.

Why do alpacas look different from each other.

There re actually two types of alpacas; huacaya and suri. Hiacaya have a tighter more tight curly fiber while suri have a longer more wavy luxurious fiber even to the point of dreadlocks.
